Hi! My name is Anna Waz. As a born and bred Chicagoan, I am enjoying the Midwestern feel to Buffalo and its proximity to Lake Erie. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2009 with a BA in French Language/Literature and International Studies, and a minor in Social Work. Although Social Work was a minor in college, it is a field that is beginning to spark my interest more and more and even gave me the extra push to join the CCSC.
I initially applied to the CCSC because of the four pillars- simplicity, community, spirituality, and social justice all being areas of my life that I wish to further develop. I also hoped that my placement might help me decide if I would like to pursue a career in social work. I am working at Catholic Charities Parish Outreach as an assistant in two food pantries.
Some interesting facts about me: My favorite color is green. I am 5’ 0” tall (it is the smallest peppers that pack the biggest punch). I love folk music and R&B. I am 100% Polish. I believe that all people wish to be loved and to love in return. I believe that humans are good- they just need to be given a chance!
