Volunteers - Donna Nichols
Hi I am Donna. I am currently spending my year of service with Catholic Charities Department of Aging and with Ladies of Charity. Both of these are excellent placements for me as I enjoy working with Senior Citizens. At Catholic Charities I work as a case manager ensuring that the needs of anyone 60 years and older are met. At Ladies of Charity I help sort through donated materials and repackage them so that they can be sent out to needy people in the area.
I joined the Catholic Charities Service Corps because I wanted to prove to myself that I could communicate with my "community" and still maintain my individual identity. I wanted to know that I had the strength to be myself, to say no, and to have fun all at the same time. So far I am accomplishing this goal. The next goal is to define for myself who I am and what I want to do with my life. I figure that a year of service is as good of a time as any to do this for myself. Peace to those who read this.
